When you’re in year 10, you have the chance to do two weeks’ work experience. It can really help you decide what you want to do in a career, and develop your skills too.
Your school or college will arrange placements for you. You won’t get paid for the work you do, but you’ll gain important experience that employers will often look for on a CV.
Your employer will agree with you how many hours you work. You shouldn’t have to work more than 8 hours a day.
