Travel and Transport

This section tells you how to find any bus stops, train stations or timetables you need for travelling around London – and about Oyster cards, which save you money on transport. There’s also all the information you need about getting licenses and other documents if you’re learning to drive.

You can drive different kinds of vehicle from certain ages – as long as you have an appropriate, valid licence.

Most journeys around London are safe, but there can be dangers from time to time – as you’ll know from the recent bombings on the Tube and buses.

Oyster is London’s travel smartcard.

By now, you’ve probably been on most types of public transport: buses, trams, the Tube, and overland trains, like the Docklands Light Railway, Thameslink and Silverlink.
