Free Time

An Introduction

It might not feel like it now, but when you’re at school you have more free time than when you’re older. Once the homework’s done, your evenings and weekends are free. It’s important to make the most of the time you have, doing something you enjoy or trying something different.

Whether you’re looking for a way to relax, or you’d like to meet new people, learn new things or help in the local community, there’s lots to choose from. This section of the site gives you some ideas. And remember, some of the things you do will also look good on your CV!

Now you’ve started at a new school, you’ll probably find you’re faced with more choices than ever before. Choices about your education, and choices about what to do in your free time too.

Doing sport doesn’t just keep you fit, it also helps you make new friends.

If you’re learning a musical instrument at school, why not take it further by joining a band or an orchestra? It’s a great way to get out and meet other people.

You’ll get to make new friends and develop your skills - and perhaps even travel.

There are lots of things that make you who you are - from your family history to your genes, from the experiences you have of life to where you come from.
