Money

Money. You can earn it, you can spend it, you can save it. Some people are good with money, others not so good. Whichever bracket you fall into, have a read of the articles in this section, which tell you some of the basics about looking after your finances, work and wages, and tax .

Wages is the name for what you get paid for working.

Tax is what the Government takes off its citizens to spend on public services like education, roads, health, defence and welfare.

Once you're 12, you may be thinking of ways you can earn a bit of pocket money. You won't be able to start most part-time jobs until you are 13, but there are some jobs which aren't classed as 'employment' but which people may pay you for.

If you are beginning to earn money, it's important to make sure you get the most from it, by budgeting.
