Relationships

Your relationships at home, with friends, at school, and with boyfriends and girlfriends can all have their own rewards – and sometimes they can be really difficult. This section is all about different relationships, with advice on where to get help if you’re having problems.

If you’ve finally plucked up courage to ask someone you fancy out on a date and they’ve agreed, you may be wondering what to do next.

When you first start going out with someone, it’s easiest if the relationship is based on friendship.

When you become a teenager, you may find you start arguing more with your parents or carers. Often it’s because you think they’re being over-protective.

Once you start to have periods, your ovaries are producing eggs, which can be fertilised by sperm if you have sex.

You may feel you have more difficult relationship issues and worries to deal with if you’re in care.

As you enter your teens, you’re probably also going through puberty. It’s a time of changes – at school, at home and in your body.
