Money - An Introduction

Money. You can earn it, you can spend it, you can save it. Some people are good with money, others not so good.

When you start paid work, you'll be given wages. This can mean an agreed amount for each hour, day, or week.

Tax is what the Government takes off its citizens to spend on public services like education, roads, health, defence and welfare.

If you are beginning to earn money, it's important to make sure you get the most from it, by budgeting.

Once you are 13, you can officially join the world of work, and take a part-time job. Shops, restaurants, supermarkets and hotels often employ young people. Or what about a newspaper round or delivering leaflets?
